Sincetheseanodesareslowlydisintegratingduringnormalwearandtear,theymust
bereplacedwhenspent.
Context
Inspecttheanodesregularly,andreplacethemifneeded.
Procedure
1Unscrewthecorrodedanodesusingpliers.
Makesurethecentrestudboltcomesout.
2Replacetheanodeandtheserratedwasherforbettercontact.
Resettingthepressurereliefvalve
ThePressurereliefvalvecanbefoundonthetransponderbottomendcap.
Procedure
1Cleantheunitthoroughlywithlotsoffreshwater.
2Pushthevalvebackinuntilitsitsushwiththesurroundingsurface.
3ContactKongsbergMaritimeforassistanceifthevalvewillnotresetproperly.
LubricatingSubConn
®
connectors
Underwaterconnectorsmustbekeptcleanandlubricatedandshouldbeinspected
regularlyfordamagesandcorrosion.
Context
SubConn
®
connectorsshouldnotbeexposedtoextendedperiodsofheatordirect
sunlight.Ifaconnectorbecomesverydry,itshouldbesoakedinfreshwaterbeforeuse.
Procedure
1GreasetheconnectorwithMolykote44Mediumorequivalentgrease.
Alayerofgreasecorrespondingtominimum1/10ofthesocketdepthshouldbe
appliedtothefemaleconnector.
2Checkthattheinneredgeofallsocketsiscompletelycovered,andathintransparent
layerofgreaseisvisibleonthefaceoftheconnector.
