b) With the device switched off, disconnect all of the load cells from the junction
box and measure the input resistance, the output resistance and the insulation
resistance, of each load cell.
Using a Tester, verify that the input resistances of the load cell, measured
between the red wire (E+) and the black wire (E-), is 370Ω ± 20Ω.
Check that the output resistance of each load cell, measured between the green
wire (S+) and the white wire (S-), is 350Ω ± 5Ω. Finally, check the insulation
resistance of each load cell, joining together of the cable wires of the load cell,
including the screen wire, measuring with the Tester to be sure that the insulation
between the joined wires and the body of the load cell and between the joined
wires and the cover of the load cell is practically infinite (>5GΩ). This procedure
rules out the presence of electrical damage to the load cells.
c) With the equipment turned off, connect a load cell to the equipment, one at a
time, by joining the wires of the load cell with the wires of the sensor extension
cable, respecting the color of the wire.
Switch on the equipment, select Test 2 of the Diagnostic Procedure and check
that the value displayed, even if negative, is stable within an interval of 5/10
minutes. Furthermore, check that by loading a weight on the mixing wagon near
the load cell, the displayed weight changes in proportion to the load applied. This
procedure is used to check the correct functioning of each load cell, and the
sensor extension cable
16. If a junction box with connectors is present (CGSPExxx) perform the following checks:
a) With the equipment switched off, disconnect all of the wire connectors of load
cells from the junction box, switch on the equipment and check with a Tester
that there is approximately 5Vdc between the B pin (E+) and the D pin (E-) of
the connectors of the junction box, taking special care to avoid causing a short
circuit.
b) With the equipment switched off, measure the input resistance, the output
resistance and the insulation resistance on the connector of every load cell. Using
a Tester, check that the input resistance of the load cell, measured between the
B pin (E+) and the D pin (E -), is 370Ω ± 20Ω. Check that the output resistance
of the load cell, measured between the A pin (S -) and the C pin (S +), is 350Ω
± 5Ω. Finally, verify the insulation resistance of the load cell by using the Tester
to measure that the insulation is practically infinite (>5GΩ) between the individual
pins and the body of the load cell, between the cover of the load cell and between
the individual pins and the metal body of the connector. This procedure rules out
the presence of electrical malfunctions in the load cells.
