3.14 Checking the internal usb cable
If you are having connection loss problems and troubleshootingtree 7: “My printer loses connection
during print” has lead you here then it could be that the internal usb cable of your printer is somehow
defect and causing connection loss during your print jobs. This paragraph will describe how to check this
and at least be able to print whilst waiting for a replacement if necessary.
The first things to do is remove both the power and the usb cable from the printer to avoid any
power being on the printer. Once you have done so you can remove the left side plate by
loosening the four screws at the corners as indicated in the picture below.
You have now gained access to the Leapfrog electronics board at the side of its usb entrance. The
internal usb cable is connected to this usb port as shown in the next picture. If you would like a
better overview you can also remove the electronics cover.
