In a USA configuration the valve guard monitors the safe status of the block
and bleed valves system (which means that no fluid can flow into the main
tank).
4.4.7 Block and Bleed System (USA)
A USA configuration has a block and bleed valves system. The block and
bleed valves system prevents that cleaning fluid can flow into the milk tank.
During a cluster rinse or cleaning valve V5 is an extra barrier between the
cleaning fluid in the milk line and the milk in the tank.
Figure 9. Block & bleed system
KEY:
V3: 3-way valve main tank - V4: bleed valve - V5: block valve
When the valves are in rest all exits of the valves to the tank are / must
be closed.
The exit of the 3-way valve to the milk tank must be closed
The butterfly valve must be closed
The valves must have valve guards that monitor if the valves are in the
correct position during a cleaning.
4.5 Alarm System
The overview shows the alarm system. When the Astronaut milking robot (1)
or the CRS M3 (2) generates an alarm, the alarm is sent through the CRS
M3 (2) to the Modalarm (3) and to T4C (4).
