1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage65.
3.Locatetheheatsinkandfanassembly.See“Servercomponents”onpage22.
4.Laytheserveronitssideforeasieroperation.Ifnecessary,removeanyinstalledPCIExpresscardthat
mightimpedeyouraccesstotheheatsinkandfanassembly.See“RemovingtheEthernetcard”
onpage79.
5.Disconnectthecableoftheheatsinkandfanassemblyfromthemicroprocessorfanconnectoronthe
