Notes:
•EnsurethatyoubackupyourdatabeforeremovingtheRAIDcardbecauseyoumightneedtorecongure
RAIDandreinstalltheoperatingsystemafterremovingtheRAIDcard.
•IfyouremovetheRAIDcard,youwilllosetheadvancedSATA/SAShardwareRAIDfunctions.
•UseanydocumentationthatcomeswiththeRAIDcardandfollowthoseinstructionsinadditionto
theinstructionsinthistopic.
ToremovetheRAIDcard,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage65.
3.Laytheserveronitssideforeasieroperation.
4.RemovethePCIcardbracketassembly.See“RemovingandreinstallingthePCIcardbracketassembly”
onpage69.
5.LocatetheRAIDcard,whichisinstalledinthePCI-Eslot1onthesystemboard.See“Systemboard
components”onpage37.
6.Removeanypartsordisconnectanycablesthatmightimpedeyouroperation.
7.DisconnectallcablesfromtheRAIDcardandanyotherrelatedparts.
Note:IfyouwanttoinstallanewRAIDcardafterremovingtheoldone,recordthecableconnections
beforedisconnectingthecables.
8.RemovetheRAIDcard.TheprocedureissimilartothatoftheEthernetcard.See“Removingthe
Ethernetcard”onpage79.
Note:CarefullyhandletheRAIDcardbyitsedges.
9.Dependingonyourneeds,dooneofthefollowing:
•InstallanewRAIDcardtoreplacetheoldoneandreconnectcables.See“InstallingtheRAIDcard”
