8.Positionthenewmemorymoduleoverthememoryslot.Ensurethatthenotch1onthenewmemory
moduleisalignedwiththekey2inthememoryslot.Then,pressthenewmemorymodulestraightdown
intothememoryslotuntiltheretainingclipscloseandthenewmemorymodulesnapsintoposition.
Note:Ifthereisagapbetweenthememorymoduleandtheretainingclips,thememorymodulehasnot
beeninstalledcorrectly.Opentheretainingclips,removethememorymodule,andthenreinstallitinto
thememoryslotuntiltheretainingclipsareclosed.

Toremoveamemorymodule,dothefollowing:
1.Removeallmediafromthedrivesandturnoffallattacheddevicesandtheserver.Then,disconnectall
powercordsfromelectricaloutletsanddisconnectallcablesthatareconnectedtotheserver.
2.Removetheservercover.See“Removingtheservercover”onpage65.
3.Laytheserveronitssideforeasieroperation.
4.Locatethememoryslotsonthesystemboard.See“Systemboardcomponents”onpage37.
5.Disconnectanycablesthatmightimpedeyouraccesstothememoryslots.
