Installing the printer on additional network computers
If you are installing your network printer for use with multiple computers on the network, insert the installation CD
into each additional computer, and follow the instructions on the computer screen.
• You do not need to repeat the connection steps for each computer you want to print to the printer.
• The printer should appear as a highlighted printer in the installation. If multiple printers appear in the list, make
sure you select the printer with the correct IP address/MAC address.
Printer sharing
With Apple's printer sharing feature, you can:
• Print to another Mac OS X user's shared printer.
• Share your printer (installed in your Macintosh) with other Mac OS X users who also use Mac OS X version 10.2
and later.
• Share your printer (installed in your Macintosh) with UNIX users.
• Share your printer (installed in your Macintosh) with Windows users.
Any printer, as well as computers and other shared resources on your local network or subnet that use the
Bonjour (formerly known as Rendezvous in Mac OS X version 10.3) technology, is accessible to your computer.
Refer to Mac Help for details about its Bonjour technology.
Note: In printer sharing, printer maintenance functions are done on the host computer. The client can print only
when the host computer is on.
Finding your MAC address
You may need the media access control (MAC) address of the print server to complete network printer configuration.
The MAC address is a series of letters and numbers listed on the bottom of the external print server.
