Operation
MultiPress S Operating manual 3.0 Rev 3.6.2009 51
In order to remove any remaining adhesive residues and skin fat
deposits, clean the parts of the mold (aluminum) and press sheets
(stainless steel) with isopropanol or acetone.
Place lower part of the press mold (including handle rail) on the
working surface in such a way that the fiducial pins point upwards.
Place a press cushion on the press mold.
Place a press sheet on the press cushion.
Place the bottom layer of the multilayer (laminate) with the copper-
plated side pointing downward on the press sheet.
Depending on the structure of the following copper layer, position
one or two prepreg layers on the laminate such that all around it has
a distance of 15 mm from the laminate border:
1 prepreg layer for less than 50 % of structured surface (rub-out)
2 prepreg layers for more than 50 % of structured surface (rub-out)
Make sure that the prepreg layers have the same fiber direction.
In accordance with the number prepreg layers, glue one or two
sealing rings to the laminate around each fiducial pin.
The sealing rings prevent the melt adhesive of the prepreg from
adhering to the fiducial bores.
Place core material milled on both sides on the multilayer.
Again place one or two prepreg layers on the top copper layer of the
base material. Ensure same fiber direction of the prepreg.
Again glue one or two sealing rings around each fiducial pin to the
base material.
Place laminate for top layer with the copper-plated side pointing
upward on the prepreg.
Place a press sheet on the laminate.
Place a press cushion on the press sheet.
Place upper part of the press mold on the press cushion such that the
angle rail engages in the recess of the lower part of the press mold.
The press mold containing the materials to be pressed can be
inserted into the press after the preheating stage. Observe the
information given in Chapter 6.6.3‚ "Inserting press mold into press
system", on page 52.
