6.8 Operating the hand pump
Building up the pressure
To close the pressure relief valve, rotate the handwheel clockwise as
far as it will go.
Pump using the lever until the manometer shows the desired
pressure.
Lowering the pressure
To open the pressure relief valve, rotate the handwheel slowly
counter clockwise.
The manometer indicates the dropping pressure.
Close the pressure relief valve when the desired pressure is
displayed.
WARNING
Risk of rebounding!
Under certain circumstances, the pump handle may rebound and
cause bodily injury.
While pumping, place your body laterally to the pump and do not
bend over the pump.
WARNING
Risk of crushing!
During pumping and reduction of the pressure, the pumping lever
is lowered down to the carrying handle. This may result in the
hand and fingers becoming crushed.
During pumping, do not hold the hand pump on the carrying
handle.
CAUTION
Material overstress through lever action!
The pump lever is only approved for manual pumps. Higher forces
through lever extensions and/or additional pump drives can overstress
the material.
Do not extend the pump lever. Do not use additional pump drives.
To save energy, execute short pump strokes. The greatest
pumping effect is achieved in the lower lever range.
