15. Install wear pad (145) on side of telescope cylinder
sheave mounting weldment (133) using the two
capscrews (146), four flat washers (10), two lock
washers (11), and two nuts (12) (left and right sides)
(see Figure 4-46).
Using tie wraps, temporarily secure the two cables (114)
together above cylinder.
16. Spray multipurpose grease (C) on outside of tele 4 (5).
Measuring approximately 1/4 of the distance of the
boom from the front tip, leave a 5 ft. wide strip of boom
free of grease to install wear pads (see Figure 4-47).
17. Place wear pad (98), two wear pads (99), and two shims
(97) against tele 4 (5) and secure them using a strap.
Place two blocks of wood or similar, with rubber pads on
both sides, directly in front of and against wear pads and
shims and secure them with a strap (see Figure 4-47).
18. Mount wear pad (4x-128) to rear of tele 4 (5) using two
capscrews (129) (left and right sides). Mount wear pad
(127) to rear of tele 4 (5) using two capscrews (129) (see
Figure 4-48).
NOTE: When installing tele 4 (5) into tele 3 (4), add equal
number of shims (55) underneath wear pads (127,
128) such that the wear pads are within 2 mm of
the bottom and sides of tele 3 (4).
19. Install grease fitting assembly (67) to rear of tele 4 (5)
using nut (68). Orient grease fitting such that it is
perpendicular to tele 4 (5) (left and right sides) (see
Figure 4-49).
20. Attach grease hose (171) to grease fitting assembly (67)
at rear of tele 4 (5). Route the hose through the access
hole in tele 4. Attach the grease hose (171) to wear pad
(131) using the elbow (69) and adapter (66) (left and
right sides) (see Figure 4-50).
