AC Impedance Test (FXO)
SETU VFXTH supports the AC Impedance Test for clear, audible and echo-free speech over FXO Ports. This test
helps you to set the most appropriate values for the FXO Port Parameters —AC Termination Impedance, CO
Termination and CO Line Type— to correct the line impedance mismatch between the AC Termination Impedance
presented by the FXO Port of SETU VFXTH to the line and the CO Termination Impedance presented by the
Central Office to the line.
To conduct the AC Impedance Test,
• Log into Jeeves.
• Click the Maintenance link.
• Click the AC Impedance Test (FXO) link.
•In Enter Phone Number to which call should be made, enter the phone number on which you want to
make a test call. The number can be a landline or a mobile number. We recommend you to use a mobile
number for the test call.
If you are using a mobile phone number, make sure the handset of the configured mobile number supports
the Mute function.
•In Make call using FXO Port, select the FXO Port using which you want to make the test call. This must
be the same FXO Port for which AC Impedance is to be set.
• Select the Test Mode. You may select Reliable (Recommended) or Accurate.
The Reliable Test mode suggests the AC Impedance settings on the basis of most commonly used AC
Impedances, CO Terminations and CO Line Types across the globe. The test using Reliable Test mode
takes approximately 5 minutes to complete.
The Accurate Test mode suggests the AC Impedance settings on the basis of all the possible AC
Impedances, CO Terminations and CO Line Types across the globe. The test using the Accurate Test
mode takes approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes to complete.
