5. If the trim tab fault does not clear using the above procedure, then shift the transmission into neutral, shut down the engine,
turn the key switch off, and alternately push the trim‑up and trim‑down manual‑override buttons to release the spool. Refer
to the decal on the manifold bracket or on the port‑side of the drive cover, if equipped, for additional information.
6. Restart the engine. At the helm, trim the tab up and down to confirm the fault has cleared. If the Drive Tab Control Fault, Drive
Tab Response Fault, or Tab Spool Stuck fault remains, then shut down the engine and turn the key switch off on the
unresponsive drive. Operate on another engine and drive. Refer to Port Engine Only Operation, if the starboard drive is
shut down.
NOTE: Boat speed and maneuverability will be reduced. Oversteer or boat listing may occur with tab in the down position.
End of First Season Checkup
At the end of the first season of operation, contact an Authorized Cummins MerCruiser Diesel Repair Facility to discuss or perform
scheduled maintenance items. See Section 5 if you are in an area where the product is operated continuously, year‑round, contact
your Authorized Cummins MerCruiser Diesel Repair Facility at the end of the first 500 hours of operation or once yearly, whichever
occurs first.
