5.3 5GHz Wireless
There are two submenus under the 5GHz Wireless menu: Host Network and Guest Network.
Click any of them, and you will be able to configure the corresponding function.
5.3.1 Host Network
Go to 5GHz Wireless→Host Network, you can configure the settings for the 5GHz wireless
host network on this page.
• SSID - Enter a value of up to 32 characters. The default SSID is MERCUSYS_XXXX_5G
(XXXX indicates the last unique four numbers of each router’s MAC address).
• Password - Enter 8-63 characters using a combination of numbers, letters and symbols.
The security version is WPA2-PSK/WPA-PSK, which supports AES encryption that
provides a good level of security. If you select No Security, the field will be left blank.
• Channel - This field determines which operating frequency will be used. The default
channel is set to Auto, so the router will choose the best channel automatically. It is not
necessary to change the wireless channel unless you notice interference problems with
another nearby access point.
• Mode - Select the desired mode.
Select the desired wireless mode. It is recommended to select 11a/n/ac mixed, and all of
802.11a, 802.11n and 802.11ac wireless clients can connect to the router.
