Inserting ink cartridges

Shake the ink cartridge as shown on the
right.

Insert the ink cartridge.
Insert the ink cartridge lengthwise with the surface
having ink IC chips pointing to the left side.
Colors are displayed on the display as follows.
Black: K, Blue: B, Magenta: M, Yellow: Y,
Light blue: b, Light magenta: m
For ink cartridge setting order, refer to P.6-4
"Setting orders of ink cartridges".
Changing an ink cartridge
Perform as follows when [INK END] or [INK NEAR END]
is displayed on the display.
When [INK END] is displayed
(1) Pull out an ink cartridge to be replaced.
(2) Insert a new ink cartridge, paying attention to the
direction of ink IC chip.
When [INK NEAR END] is displayed
There is a little of ink left. It is recommended to replace
the ink cartridge soon since ink may become empty in
printing while printing is continuously enabled.
For Ink cartridge lamps
The condition of the ink cartridges set in the machine is
confirmable with lamps located over the ink cartridges.
About ink expiration date
The ink cartridge has its expiration date.
When this expiration date is exceeded, a message is
displayed in LOCAL and for the guidance message.

You can use the cartridge in two months after the
expiration date indicated on it, however, you cannot use it
when three months have passed from the expiration date.
As LED will blink quickly to inform you of it, replace the
cartridge
Ex.) When the expiration date is April 2016
May : Usable, [Expiration] is displayed in LOCAL.
June : Usable (LED lits to yellow),
[Expiration(1M)] is displayed in LOCAL.
July : Unusable (LED blinks to red),
[Expiration(2M)] is displayed in LOCAL.
During [INK NEAR END] is displayed, Auto
cleaning does not operate.( P.3-9)
