Physical system features
The 3300 ICP components have the following common physical features:
External casing: All of the components may be stacked or rack-mounted (in a 19-inch rack).
Power supply: Each unit has its own standard male IEC AC input connector for power.
LEDs: All LEDs are located on the front of the units for visual indication of circuit status.
3300 ICP controller
The 3300 ICP Controller provides the voice, signaling, central processing, and communications
resources for the system. There are three controllers available in Release 7.0:
CX and CXi Controller
MXe Controller
CX and CXi Controllers
The CX and CXi controllers, introduced with Release 6.0, target the Branch Office and provide
a capability of up to 64 users.
The CX and CXi Controllers provide 64 channels of Ethernet to Time Division Multiplexing
(E2T) and up to 64 channels of echo cancellation.
The CX and CXi Controllers have an optional T1/E1 combo module that provides digital trunking
and DSP functionality. The DSP provides resources for CLASS tone generation, Record a Call
conferences, DMTF receivers, voice compression, and voice echo cancellation.
CX and CXi controllers ship with a Dual Embedded DSP on the main board.
The Analog Main Board (AMB) provides 6 Loop Start, 4 ONS and 2 Power Fail Transfer Circuits.
The CX and CXi controllers support up to 64 users.
The CX controller supports embedded analog functionality.
The CXi controller also supports embedded analog functionality and includes a 16 port
Ethernet Layer 2 switch.
The CX and CXi controllers do not support the Universal ASU or Peripheral units.
