7. Messaging
This section describes how to compose, send and receive different types of messages.
TYPES OF MESSAGES
• Text Messages
• Multimedia (Picture, Video, and Audio) Messages
• Email and Gmail Messages
• Google+ and Messenger
Short Message Service (SMS) lets you send and receive text messages to and from other mobile phones or
email addresses. To use this feature, you may need to subscribe to your service provider’s text messaging service.
Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) lets you send and receive multimedia messages (such as picture,
video, and audio messages) to and from other mobile phones or email addresses. To use this feature, you may
need to subscribe to your service provider’s multimedia message service.
Important! When creating a message, adding an image, a sound le, or a video clip to a text message changes the message from a text
message to a multimedia message.
CREATE TEXT MESSAGES
1. From the Home screen, tap Messaging ► New Message .
2. Tap on the To eld to manually enter a recipient or tap Add Contact
to select a recipient from your
Contacts.
3. When adding a recipient or multiple recipients from your Contacts, select each contact (which will be
highlighted when selected), then tap
at the bottom left corner of the screen.
4. Tap the Type message eld and use the QWERTY keypad to enter a message.
5. Tap Send .
Note: If you exit a message before you send it, it will be automatically saved as a draft.
Note: When manually entering recipients separate each entry with a semicolon (;).
