10.5 Data communications
The unit fully relies on Ethernet connection to the Core module which must be within the VDRs
specified (commissioned) IP-range (refer to 2.5 Network configuration).
10.6 Indicators
Link speed (Green LED):
• The LED is on when there is a link connection.
• Otherwise, the LED is off.
Activity (Yellow LED)
• The LED is flashing when there is activity on the link.
• Otherwise, the LED is off.
Power supply: red LED.
10.7 Errors
If errors occur within the Core Module these will be indicated on the display of the Bridge Display
Unit.
10.8 PC set-up
To set up the Video Module a service PC should be connected to the module (LAN connection)
and run the VCS2 remotely. To make this connection, complete the steps below:
1. Connect the laptop to the Ethernet port (labeled “Output”) located at the front of the
Video Module.
2. On the laptop’s desktop screen, open the Control Panel (Start > Control Panel).
3. Double-click the ‘Network Connections’ icon, right-click the now visible ‘Local Area
Connection’ icon and select ‘Properties’ from the right-click menu.
4. Select “Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)” in the connection pane and press the ‘Properties’
button.
5. Select the ‘Use the following IP address’ radio button, enter 192.168.199.1 in the ‘IP
address’ field and 255.255.255.0 in the ‘Subnet mask’ field. Press ‘OK’.
6. Select the ‘Advanced’ tab and press the ‘Settings’ button in the ‘Windows Firewall’
section.
7. Select the ‘Advanced’ tab and press the ‘Settings’ button in the ‘Network Connection
Settings’ section.
