If you want the GPS Heading information to be accurate,
keep your GPS unit pointing in the same direction as the lens.
Some GPS units also contain a digital compass. Point the
GPS in the direction of your subject and give it enough time
to stabilize before you take the picture or the Heading
information will not be accurate. This does not apply to the
Nikon GP-1 GPS unit, which has no digital compass. It only
records Latitude, Longitude, Altitude, and UTC time, not the
Heading.
