You need a software license to
enable the encoder function. If no
license is installed in your unit, the
encoder icon (a) will not appear in
the menu.
aTaptheEncoder buttononthe
System Settings screen.
bTaptoenableordisablethe
encoder. If the encoder is
disabled, the line must run at a
fixed speed to ensure accurate
patterns
c Tap to select a single phase
(single-ended) type of encoder.
This type of encoder only
detects forward movement.
d Tap to select quadrature type of
encoder. This type of encoder
tracks forward and backward
line travel.
e If the line speed display in the
status bar reads negative, use
this setting to reverse the
encoder travel direction.
f Encoder icon status:

encoder detected and
license available t o
enable encoder
operation.
encoder not detected.
encoder detected,
license missing to enable
encoder operation.

NOTE: Once the pattern controller is in encoder mode the only way to go
back to time mode is by doing a factory re set. Refer to Factory Reset given
earlier under Tools Menu.
