Installing batteries

Remove the battery cover according to battery manufacturer 's instructions.

Slide the first string of batteries lengthwise with terminals facing front, into the
battery compartment.

Push the batteries all the way into the back of the battery compartment until
the battery touches the divider wall.

Leave a gap between each battery from 1/4-in. to 3/8- in.

Install the intercell connectors (supplied by the battery manufacturer)
according to Figure 3-26.
a.
Install one intercell connector from the POSITIVE (+) terminal of Battery
#1 to the NEGATIVE (-) terminal of Battery #2.
b.
Install one intercell connector from the POSITIVE (+) terminal of Battery
#2 to the NEGATIVE (-) terminal of Battery #3.
c.
Install one intercell connector from the POSITIVE (+) terminal of Battery
#3 to the NEGATIVE (-) terminal of Battery #4.

Install the Anderson connectors shipped in the battery cable kit as follows:
a.
Connect the BLACK POSITIVE (+) lead to the POSITIVE (+) terminal of
Battery #4.
b.
Connect the RED NEGATIVE (-) lead to the NEGATIVE terminal of
Battery #1.

Plug in the Anderson connector into the mating Anderson connector directly
above the string.
Note:
Verify the polarity of the connectors and battery terminals match.

Install the next string of batteries into the battery compartment. Repeat steps
3 through
8.
