Chapter 5 Scanner Operation
■ To install the Scanner Driver
To use the printing system as a scanner, a scanner driver (Océ Scanner Driver) must be
installed in a computer in which a TWAIN scanner driver-equipped application has been
previously installed.
Compliant OS
The scanner driver can be used on the following OS:
• Windows 95/98/Me
• Windows NT 4.0
• Windows 2000
For the printing system to be used as a scanner, you need the network inter-
face card. The parallel port on the print controller is not available for scanning
work.
It is necessary that the PC and the network interface card should be assigned
appropriate IP addresses, and that the TCP/IP network should be enabled.
For the TCP/IP settings of the network interface card, see the separate User’s
Guide for the network interface card.
To install the scanner driver (Océ Scanner Driver)
To install the scanner driver, perform the following procedure.
1. Turn on the computer and start Windows.
Exit from all active Windows applications, if required.
2. Set the “User Software CD” on the CD-ROM drive.
3. Double-click the [My Computer] icon on the desk top to open the [My Computer]
window, and then double-click the icon corresponding to the connected CD (i.e.
User Software CD).
4. Double-click [Setup.exe] in the [Scanner] folder.
5. Follow the instructions given in the installation wizard screen.
