• Registering a Confidential Box
• Registering a Bulletin Board Box
To perform Fcode communication, register an Fcode box. There are two types of Fcode
boxes: Fcode confidential boxes and Fcode bulletin board boxes. Be sure to register a sub
address and a PIN number (Fcode confidential communication only) for each Fcode box.
Registering a Confidential Box
You can register a confidential box to the machine, allowing you to receive a fax data that you
do not want to expose to third persons with Fcode communication.

Press the (SETTING) button on the operator panel.

Press the button once to select [Admin Setup] and press the button.

Enter the administrator password, and then press the (OK) button.
The factory default administrator password is "999999". If the administrator password is changed, enter the
updated password.

Press the button to select [Fax Setup] and press the button.

Press the button to select [Fcode Box] and press the button.

Press the or button to select the box number and press the button.

When [Register] is displayed, press the button.
To edit a registered Fcode confidential box, enter the PIN number, and then select [Edit].

Check that [Confidential Box] is selected, and then press the button.

Check that [Box Name] is selected, and then press the (OK) button.

Enter a box name.
You can enter up to 16 characters.

Select [Enter], and then press the (OK) button.

Press the button to select [Sub-Address], and then press the button.

Enter the sub address using the numeric keypad.
You can enter up to 20 characters including # or *.

Press the (OK) button.

Press the or button to select [Hold Time] and press the button.

Enter a value from 0 to 31 (days) using the numeric keypad, and then press
the (OK) button.
• Set [Hold Time] if necessary.
• If you set [0] (days), the document is indefinitely retained.

Select [I.D. Code] and press the button.

Enter a 4-digit PIN number using the numeric keypad, and then press the
(OK) button.
The entered PIN number is not displayed. Be sure to write the PIN number down and keep it safe.

Press the (OK) button.
Registering a Bulletin Board Box
If you register a bulletin board box to the machine, you can have the other party retrieve a
document that is registered in the bulletin board box any time upon transmission request
from the other party.
