1.4 Power Requirements
Pressthe[ON/OFF]keytoturnontheEPOCH 600(seeFigure 16onpage 18).
Pressingthiskeyoncecausesaninitialbeep,followedby theinstrumentstartup
screenandasecondbeepapproximately5 secondslater.
TheEPOCH 600isdesignedtooperateusingthreepowersupplymethods:
Internallithiumionbattery
•Directlyfrom
theEPOCHcharger/adaptor

1.4.1 Lithium-Ion Battery
Thelithiumion(Liion)batteryistheprimarymethodforpoweringtheEPOCH 6 00. 
Thisbatterycomesinstalledineveryinstrument.Whenproperlymaintained,and
whentheinstrumentisoperatedundertypicalinspectionconditions,thelithiumion
batteryshouldprovidebetween12and13 hoursofcontinuousoperation.
To install or replace the lithium-ion battery
1. Unfoldtheinstrumentpipestand.
2. Atthebackoftheinstrument,loosenthetwothumbscrewssecuringthebattery
compartmentcover(seeFigure 17onpage 19).
3. Removethebatterycompartmentcover(seeFigure 17onpage 19).
4. Removethebatteryand/orinstallthebatteryinthebatterycomp artment.
