2.3 Gates
TheEPOCH 600featurestwostandard,independentmeasurementgates:gate 1and
gate 2.Gate 1isdisplayedasared,solidhorizontalline.Gate 2isdisplayedasablue,
hollowhorizontalline.Thesegatesindependentlydefinedigitalmeasurements
regionsforamplitude,time‐of‐flightmeasurements,andotherspecializedreadings.
Eachgatealsofeaturesalarm
andzoomfunctions.
2.3.1 Quickly Adjusting Basic Gate Parameters
The[GATES]direct‐accesskeyallowsinstantaccesstogatestart,width,andlevel
adjustmentswithoutrequiringtheusertoenteranygate‐relatedmenus.Thisisthe
mostcommonmethodforgateadjustments.
Whenthe[GATES]keyispressed,theboxabovethefirstmenudisplaysthegate 1
startposition
(seeFigure 2‐10onpage 36).Onceselected,theknoborarrowscan
increaseordecreasethisvalue,incoarseorfineincrements.

Pressingthe[GATES]keyrepeatedlywillscrollthroughthestart,width,andlevel
settingofeveryactivegate.Pressing[ESCAPE]or[NEXTGROUP]
returnstheuser
tothemenugroupusedpriortogateadjustment,allowingefficientadjustmentofthe
gateswithminimalinterferencefortheoperator.
Formorecomprehensivegatesetupandadjustment,therearethreemenusthat
managegatesettings:Gate1,Gate2,andGateSetup.
2.3.2 Gate 1 and Gate 2
BothGate 1andGate 2menusallowaccesstospecificgatepositioningandalarm
functions.Wheneithermenuisselected,thefollowingparameters becomevisible
abovethe[P<n>]parameterkeys.
