Chapter 5
42
The external DC power supply must be able to withstand up to 10 A of “in rush
current” for a few microseconds.
The 15 V to 24 V requirement is the voltage needed at the
DC IN connector site. The
length of the cable has an impact on the power supply’s nominal value. For example,
with a nominal value of 15 V and 30 meters of cable, the voltage at the connector site
could be lower than 14 V which is too low for the instrument to start up.
5.2 Operating Specifications
This section details the operating specifications of the TomoScan FOCUS LT.
5.2.1 Pulser/Receiver Differences and Limitations
The pulser/receiver specifications are given by model type. The main differences
between the TomoScan FOCUS LT models are the following:
Number of active channels (16, 32, or 64)
Channel quantity (32, 64, or 128)
AC power requirements Voltage 100 VAC to 240 VAC, tolerance ±10 %
Frequency 50 Hz to 60 Hz, tolerance ±3 Hz
Maximum power 150 VA
Fuse 250 V, slow-blow:
1A at 240V
2A at 120V
DC power requirements Voltage 15 VDC to 24 VDC,
tolerance 1 V, +1.5 V, 5 A maximum
