3-2-9 Connection Locations for Terminating Resistors
Terminating Resistors must always be connected to the trunk line and each
sub-trunk line on the opposite end from the Master Unit or Repeater Unit.
Note Do not connect a Terminating Resistor on the end of the Network
with the Master Unit.
When the trunk line or sub-trunk line is branched, the Terminating Resistor is
connected to the end of the branch line farthest from the Master Unit or
Repeater Unit.

Master Unit
Place the Master Unit on one
end of the trunk line. Do not
connect a Terminating
Resistor on the end of the
trunk line with the Master Unit.

Resistor on the opposite
end of the trunk line from
the Master Unit.

Unit
Do not connect a
Terminating Resistor to the
Repeater Unit.
Sub-trunk line
Slave Unit
Make sure the cable lengths at the
last branch at the end of the line
so that length a is greater than
length b.
Place the Terminating
Resistor (one only) on the
opposite end of the sub-
trunk line from the
Repeater Unit.
