Listening modes that can be selected with each button are as follows. For the
audio formats supported by this unit, refer to "Supported Audio Formats" section.
* Important: The listening modes may not be available depending on the current
source, settings and status of the receiver.
 DIRECT button:
The DIRECT mode blocks some portion of the processing such as the tone
control function that a󰀨ects sound qualities. Selecting this mode allows you to
enjoy the sound quality better than that of the input audio format. With this mode,
the sound is reproduced with the sound eld based on the number of channels
in the input signal. For example, a 2ch input signal is output only from the front
speakers.
 STEREO button:
You can select the STEREO mode that reproduces the sound only with the front
speakers and subwoofer.
 SURR button:
Pressing this button repeatedly allows you to select various modes.
If the number of channels of the input signal and the number of channels of the
installed speakers are the same (e.g. The input signal is 5.1ch and the speaker
setting is 5.1ch), the input audio format is displayed on the display. For the audio
formats supported by this unit, refer to "Supported Audio Formats" section.
If the number of channels of the input signal and the number of channels of the
installed speakers are di󰀨erent (e.g. The input signal is 5.1ch and the speaker
setting is 7.1ch), the following modes are displayed on the display.
