Before Using This System
Introduction
This product is a gateway controller that connects the S-LINK V system to the open network (CC-Link, De-
viceNet) that is now exclusively used in the world. Adopt the slave station function of the open network for the
S-LINK V system, and connect the S-LINK V system to the open network as the lower network system. You can
establish a decentralized network that can be controlled in units of bits.
This manual provides information necessary for operation of the S-LINK V gateway controller. Before operat-
ing the gateway controller, carefully read this manual and fully understand the functions and performance of the
controller. In addition, observe the cautions written in this manual, and correctly use the gateway controller.
For this gateway controller, there is a separate manual, ‘S-LINK V User’s Manual.’ For a general description of
the S-LINK V system, refer to the ‘S-LINK V User’s Manual.’
Warnings
This manual uses three types of warnings depending on the hazard level. They are ‘DANGER,’ ‘WARNING,’ and
‘CAUTION.’ To safely use the S-LINK V system, be sure to observe these warnings.
‘DANGER’ indicates that mishandling of this system may result in death or serious injury, and this
word is limitedly used in the extremely hazardous situations.

WARNING
‘CAUTION’ indicates that mishandling of this system may result in injury or damage of the system.
CAUTION
‘NOTE’ provides caution or information to you in order to prevent operation errors.
