9. Do the Aries8 tablets include 4G cellular support?
Yes, each Aries8 tablet includes 4G cellular that is implemented directly onto the main PCB board.
10. Can the Px data cables be used for Aries terminals?
Yes, they can but there are some limitations:
• The 12v PUSB cables are completely interchangeable and can be used as is.
• The standard Px USB and RS232 cables can be used BUT the Aries power supply must be used and
it must be plugged directly into the Aries Plate (Standard Plate or Integrated Plate) and NOT into
the power pig-tail connector that is part of these cables.
11. Can Px power supplies be used on Aries tablets?
No, although the power barrel sizes are the same for both product lines, the amperage and voltages of
the devices differ and the polarity in the barrel is reversed.
12. Can using a Px power supply on an Aries terminal damage the terminal, or vice
versa?
Yes it can, and doing this will void the product warranty.
13. Is there a Standard Plate for the Aries6 Pro tablet that allows it to be used primarily
as a fixed mount terminal, and removed intermittently to use as a mobile device?
No, instead we offer an Aries6 Base Station, which includes an external (cable connected)
Communications Box and a Bluetooth® wireless technology printer that can be used for receipt printing.
The Base Station also swivels – from merchant facing (for POS entry) to consumer facing (for payment).
14. Can an Aries6 tablet work on an Aries8 Standard Plate?
Yes, however this is not recommended. The smaller size of the Aires6 tablet will create an unsightly gap
between the top edge of the tablet and the top of the Plate, a magnet for accumulating dust/debris that
could potentially damage the tablet-to-plate interface.
15. Can we use the Aries8 tablets to scan products, or are the Pro tablets that include a
scanner required?
All Aries tablets include a front facing camera that can be effectively used for most scanning applications.
The front edge scanner on the Aries Pro tablets is specifically designed for high speed/high volume
“scanning gun” applications (such as inventory taking), using the Aries handle with trigger button that can
actuate the scanner.
16. If I order Aries components separately (a la carte) will they comment assembled and
in one box per terminal?
No, for most orders (unless other arrangements are made) each component will come in its own box. This
includes the tablet, plate, Base Station, and Handle. Smaller accessories, like pens, will be packaged
together in a larger bag or box.
17. How do I get an Aries kit configured with a Stylus pen?
For the Aries8 kit you will need to include a Stylus pen and Stylus pen holder on the order. For Aries8 Pro
kits, you merely need to add a Stylus pen to the order. These two configurations already include a stylus
pen holder.
