There are three independent alarm relays in the NGC-UIT2 that can be used for remote
annunciation of alarms. Each relay can be programmed for a specific alarm type, multiple alarm
types, or none. If Any Alarm is chosen for a relay, any alarm condition will activate that relay.
3.3.33 SYSTEM | COMM WINDOW
This window lets you set up communications with host systems.
The NGC-UIT2 can be connected to a distributed control system (DCS) or host computer using
an RS-485, RS-232, or a standard Ethernet connection. All data and setup options are accessed
with communications that follow the Modbus (RTU/Modbus/TCP) protocol. To enable DCS
communications, please refer to the Raychem NGC-UIT2 Modbus Protocol document (H57880).
Selecting the Port
The NGC-UIT2 will allow you to independently configure all available ports. The "Select Port"
entry field indicates which port is being configured on the screen at the moment. Tapping on the
box will allow you to select the port you wish to configure.
Selection: RS-485 Host, RS-232 Host, Ethernet Host, RS-485 Field Bus. Depending on the port
selected, options for that port will appear.
Changing Modbus Address
The Modbus address of the NGC-UIT2 can be changed on the bottom of this screen. This Modbus
address will be used for all three of the selectable host ports. The Modbus address of the
individual ports cannot be independently set.
