Troubleshooting Section
•
The signal voltage from the intake manifold
pressure senso
r is above 4.95 VDC for at least
two seconds.
•
Diagnostic co
de 0168-01 is not active.
•
No 0262 diagnostic codes for the 5 volt supply are
active.
System Response:
If equipped, the warning light will be on. The ECM
will log the diagnostic code. The ECM will trigger a
snapshot. Th
e data for the intake manifold pressure
willbesettoamaximumvalidpressurefortwo
seconds. The ECM will then flag the intake manifold
pressure as b
eing invalid. A default value is then
used for the intake manifold pressure.
For engines w
ith an electronically controlled
wastegate, the current for the wastegate solenoid
will be set to a default value while this code is active.
This will de
rate the engine. The derate will prevent
any overpressure in the intake manifold which could
be caused by an overspeed of the turbocharger.
Possible Performance E ffect:
•
Theenginew
ill be derated by 20%.
Troubleshooting:
This diagnostic code can be caused by an open
circuit or a short to another power source.
Perform the following diagnostic procedure: “Engine
Pressure Sensor Open or Short Circuit - Test”
Results:
•
OK – STOP.

Conditions Which G enerate This Code:
The Electr
onic Control Module (ECM) detects the
following conditions:
•
The signal
voltage from the intake manifold
pressure sensor is less then 0.2 VDC for at least
two seconds.
•
The ECM has been powered for two seconds.
•
Diagnost
ic code 0168-01 is not active.
•
No 0262 codes for the 5 volt supply are active.
•
The keyswitch is in the “ON” position so that the
ECM is energized.
System Response:
If equipped, t
he warning light will be on. The ECM
will log the diagnostic code. The ECM will trigger a
snapshot. The data for the intake manifold pressure
will be set to a
maximum valid pressure for two
seconds. The ECM will then flag the intake manifold
pressure as being invalid. A default value is then
used for the i
ntake manifold pressure.
For engines with an electronically controlled
wastegate, t
he current for the wastegate solenoid
will be set to a default value while this code is active.
This will derate the engine. The derate will prevent
any overpre
ssure in the intake manifold which could
be caused by an overspeed of the turbocharger.
Possible Pe
rformance Effect:
•
The engine will be derated by 100%.
Troubleshooting:
This code ca
n be caused by a short to ground or a
shorted sensor.
Perform the
following diagnostic procedure: “Engine
Pressure Sensor Open or Short Circuit - Test”
Results:
•
OK – STOP.

This diagnostic code is designed to detect the loss of
the5Volts
upply at the sensor connector.
The Electronic Control Module (ECM) detects the

The engine speed is more than 1000 rpm.
•
The intake manifold pressure is within the
acceptable range.
•
No 0262 codes for the 5 Volt supply are active.
•
Diagnosti
c code 0168-01 is not active.
