5. Operation and Control
PleasenotethatthepermaMP-6distributormayonlybeconnectedtoalubricatorofthePROrange.
IfyoucombinethedistributorwithaPROlubricator,youalsohavetoobservetheOperatingInstructions
ofthelubricator.
5.1 Preparations
♦ Priortoinstallingthelubricationsystem(lubricatoranddistributor),alllubricationpointsmustbepre-lubricated
andallgreaselinesmustbesufcientlypre-lledwiththesamelubricantthatiscontainedintheLCunitofthe
lubricator.Forthis,perma-tecoffersa400glubricationcartridgeforgreasepresseswiththecorres-
pondinglubricant(referto“AccessoriesandSpareParts”).
♦ Wheninstallingthelubricationsystem,thesuppliedperma-tecmountingdeviceshouldbeused.Thelubricator
andthedistributorshouldbexedtothismountingdevice(refertochapter4.3).
♦ Thegreaselinesmustbeinstalledandmountedcorrectly.Greaselinesmustbefromperma-tecandcannot
exceedalengthof5metersperoutlet.
Fortheinitialsettingintooperationofalubricator,thepumpsysteminthedriveunitispre-lledwithSF04from
perma’sstandardrangeoflubricants.Anexceptionismadewithregardtolubricantsforthefoodindustry.
Acompletedischargeofthispumpllingisguaranteedafterapprox.10discharges(carryoutadditional
discharges,ifnecessary).
5.2 Prior to Operation
♦ Checkallpartsofthedistributorandthecompletelubricationsystemforobviousdamages!
♦ Didyoucorrectlyassemble,mount,andtightenalloftheconnectionsandtheplugsofthedistributor?
♦ Arethegreaselines,comingfromthedistributor,mountedcorrectlyontheconnections?
♦ Wasthedriveunitofthelubricatorsettothedischargeperiodrequestedbytheoperatorwhiletakinginto
accounttherequireddischargevolumeandthenumberofopenoutlets?
♦ Didyoucorrectlyassemble,mountandtightenalloftheparts?
5.3 Setting into Operation
♦ Opentherequirednumberofoutletsbymountingtheconnectionsandsealtheunusedoutletswithplugs
(refertochapter4.1).
♦ Screwtogetherthedistributorandthelubricator(refertochapter4.3).
♦ Ifrequired,mountthedistributortogetherwiththelubricatorontothemountingdeviceandontoaxingdevice
forwall-mounting(refertochapter4.3).
♦ Connectthedistributortothelubricatorwiththeconnectingcabletoenablesignalexchange(referto
chapter4.3).
♦ Determinethedischargeperiodfortheopenoutlets(refertochapter5.7).
♦ Setthedischargeperiodwiththepushbuttonsonthelubricator(refertochapter5.8).
♦ Activatethedesiredoutletswiththepushbuttonsonthelubricator(refertochapter5.9).
♦ Ifnecessary,doamanualinitializationafteradistributorexchange(refertochapter5.10).
♦ Didthelubricatorcorrectlyrecognizethedistributorduringinitialization?
♦ Carryoutanadditionaldischarge(refertochapter5.8).
IfthedrivemotorhasstartedandthegreenLEDislit,thelubricatorhasstartedtodischarge.Thedisplayof
thelubricatorindicatestheremainingvolume(%Vol.)ofthePROLCunit.
The operator must always check the customer-specic settings and if necessary change them before the
lubricator is set into operation! In addition, the Operating Instructions of the lubricator must be observed.
