Propane gas regulator maintenance
The regulator has an evacuator that lets it
breathe. If pressure becomes too high in the
regulator, it bleeds off until it returns to the
normal level. Check the evacuator often to keep
it clean and clear of all debris, corrosion,or
obstructions. A dirty regulator can result in
higher pressure, loss of fuel or appliance failure.
The evacuator can be cleaned with a toothbrush
and must be checked periodically by a qualified
service centre.
The propane gas regulator must
always be installed with the
evacuator membrane facing down.
Regulators not in compartments
are equipped with a protective
cover. Check that the evacuator is
facing down and that the cover is
held in place to minimize
obstruction of ventilation, which
might result in excess propane gas
pressure and trigger a fire or
explosion, causing serious injury
or even death.
