Note: You do not have to fully disconnect the gas strut. Once the top mount is disconnected,
rotate the gas strut down and out of the way to work on the other components.
6. Locate the top Gas Strut attachment bolt (fi gure
7.12.2) Use a pair of needle nose pliers and a 1/2"
box-end wrench to remove the gas strut from it's
upper mount. (fi gure 7.12.2)

Caution: During the next steps, the gas strut will be detached. It is under pressure. Once the
recline actuator is detached from it's mount, the gas Strut will be allowed to fully extend.
5. Locate and disconnect the two main leads to
the actuators(fi gure 7.12.1)
Recline Actuator lead is shown on left, and Shear
actuator lead is shown on Right.
