24 Common problems and how to solve them
The following table list questions of our customers and our corresponding
answers.
Problem
Solution
Radio is not identified by the PC
although connected via USB.
Make sure to use a data cable for the USB-
connection. A Power cable only routes the
power lines.
A want to listen to a CB station
transmitting in LSB mode but CB
band only supports AM
demodulation.
Select SW radio mode and set the
demodulation type to AM, LSB or USB.
A want to listen to a CB station
transmitting in FM mode but CB
band only supports AM
demodulation.
Select VHF radio mode to listen to a FM
station in CB band.
Is it possible to switch off the
'peep' by press the keys?
The volume of the key beep is preset by
the factory to a bare minimum and not
user selectable.
Is there a possibility to adjust the
main display for permanent
Illumination?
Permanent illumination is possible via the
system settings menu ("A-LCD SETTING"
and "B-LCD SETTING").
Is the battery replaceable?
The batteries are replaceable.
Will the Bluetooth transmit to
earbuds?
No, but it is possible to have the radio act
as a Bluetooth speaker.
Can the firmware be updated to
correct any bugs?
The radio supports firmware upgrades,
but the process must be handled with
caution to avoid bricking the device.
Is the radio PC programmable for
managing the 1600 channels?
Unlike amateur handheld radios, the
RF919 does not support PC
programming.
