6 Maintenance and care
Regular maintenance and care ensure the proper function of your Perforex
BC machining centre. To ensure optimum use, the maintenance intervals
specified in section 6.4 "Maintenance schedule" must be observed, whereby,
original spare parts and consumables recommended by Rittal must be used.
Furthermore, we recommend regular maintenance by our Rittal service tech-
nicians.
6.1 General notes
The listed maintenance work may be performed only by trained and briefed
specialists. For ongoing maintenance work or faults, contact Rittal staff with-
out delay.
Danger!
Before performing maintenance and repair work, the ma-
chine must be disconnected from the power and com-
pressed-air supplies.
Note:
To perform maintenance work, some protective devices must be
removed or decommissioned. Consequently, there is an in-
creased risk of accidents during maintenance work.
Note:
Immediately after maintenance, all protective devices and ma-
chine covers must be returned to their original position and acti-
vated, if necessary, before the renewed commissioning of the
machine.
6.2 Inspection
In regular intervals, for safety reasons or otherwise, the machine must be
subjected to a thorough inspection by an appropriately trained specialist.
Check the safety of the electrical system, in particular, the cable insulation.
Check the state of the power supply cable and the motor cables for visible
damage, such as abrasion and cuts.
Check the correct functioning of the protective devices, among others, also
the EMERGENCY STOP switching.
Check the maintenance unit for correct functioning and contaminants.
Inspect the machine in accordance with the maintenance schedule (Sec-
tion 6.4 "Maintenance schedule").
Check the clamping force of the tool holders every 3 months. The tool
holder must be replaced if there is play between the tool holder and the
gripper groove on the tool.
6.3 Maintenance
Regular cleaning is necessary to ensure increased availability of the ma-
chine and to retain productivity.
Furthermore, we recommend regular maintenance by our Rittal service tech-
nicians.
This reduces the standstill times of the machine, prevents cost-intensive re-
pairs and ensures a longer service life of the machine.
