2 Safety instructions
2.1 General safety instructions
Observe the following general safety instructions for the installation and op-
eration of your Perforex BC machining centre:
– Other than these general safety instructions, ensure you also observe the
specific safety instructions when performing the tasks described in the fol-
lowing sections.
– The Perforex BC machining centre is constructed as an individual work-
place; only one operator may work on the machine.
– Observe the valid national regulations for the electrical installation and op-
eration of the Perforex BC machining centre, and the national regulations
for accident prevention. Also observe any internal company regulations,
such as those that involve work, operating and safety.
– In conjunction with the Perforex BC machining centre, use only original
Rittal products or products and accessories recommended by Rittal. This
is essential to ensure proper operation.
– Do not make any changes to the Perforex BC machining centre other than
those described in these and other applicable operating instructions.
– The operational safety of the Perforex BC machining centre is guaranteed
only for its approved use. The technical specifications and specified limit
values must not be exceeded under any circumstances.
– Operating the system in direct contact with water, aggressive materials or
inflammable gases and vapours is prohibited.
– Every person involved with the operation or maintenance of the Perforex
BC machining centre must have read and understood the complete operat-
ing instructions.
– The switch-off procedures stated in these operating instructions must be
observed.
– Refrain from any operation that could impair the safety of the operator and
the Perforex BC machining centre.
– Unauthorized modifications and changes that could impair the safety of the
operators and the Perforex BC machining centre are prohibited.
– Changes made by the customer to the control are permitted only after con-
sultation with Rittal. Impermissible changes void the warranty.
– None of the project documents may be forwarded to third-parties.
The media supply (e.g. provision of compressed air) must conform to the
information contained in these operating instructions.
2.2 Responsibilities of the operating company
– The operating company is obliged to always operate the Perforex BC ma-
chining centre in a sound condition.
– We recommend that the company operating the Perforex BC machining
centre obtains a written confirmation from all operators that they have read
and understood the complete operating instructions.
– The operating company is obliged to inform every operator about the dan-
ger sources that can result from working on and operating the Perforex BC
machining centre.
– The operating company is obliged to prevent unauthorised persons from
having access to the Perforex BC machining centre. This possibly includes
the creation of a permanent access restriction.
Furthermore, the operating company is obliged to observe the work protec-
tion requirements valid for the installation location of the machining centre
