Why does calibration fail on RKI Instruments Gas Detectors?
- SSteven ChenAug 13, 2025
Calibration failures on RKI Instruments Gas Detectors can occur for several reasons: * The calibration values might not match the cylinder gas concentrations, so ensure the instrument is properly set up for calibration. * A saturated charcoal filter can cause elevated CO readings; replace the charcoal filter. * A bad connection may prevent the sample gas from reaching the sensors; check all calibration tubing for leaks. * The calibration cylinder may be out of gas or outdated; verify the cylinder contains an adequate supply of fresh test sample. * The sensor for the affected channel(s) may need replacement; in this case replace the sensor(s).
