Cleaning and Disinfecting the Lancing Device
To clean and disinfect without damaging the lanc-
ing device, follow these procedures carefully.
When to clean and disinfect the lancing
device
• Clean the lancing device to remove visible dirt
or other ma
terial prior to disinfecting.
• Clean and disinfect the lancing device before
allowing any
one else to handle the lancing
device, for instance, if you have someone
assisting you. Do not allow anyone else to use
the lancing device.
NOTICE
• Do not throw away the lancing device cap.
•
Use approved cleaning and disinfecting
products on it.
• Remove the lancet before cleaning and disin-
fecting the lancing device.
