Getting a good capillary blood sample To get a suitable drop of blood:
• Wash your hands in warm water and dry
thoroughly
.
• Let your hand hang at your side before
lancing y
our finger.
• Immediately after lancing, massage gently
along the side of y
our finger to obtain a suffi-
ciently large blood drop without pressing or
squeezing too hard.
WARNING
Residues of water on the skin can dilute the drop
of blood and produce false results.
