Chapter 5 Using 1715 Analog I/O Module Features
3. On the Diagnostics dialogue click Scan On. The DTM queries each
channel to determine whether or not a responding HART device is
connected.
For a channel with a connected device, the device information is
displayed. The DTM refreshes this at intervals given by the Scan Interval.
If a channel does not have a device attached, the DTM periodically
queries the channel in order to detect a newly connected device.
4. Click Next to exit.
IMPORTANT
In order to use the Diagnostic function, the DTM must be online,
so ensure that the DTM is online before opening the Diagnostics
dialogue. Diagnostic controls are disabled (greyed out) if the DTM
is offline when the Diagnostic dialogue is opened. The online
status of the DTM is displayed at the bottom of the Diagnostics
dialogue.
IMPORTANT
No device DTMs have to be configured in order to use the
Diagnostics function.
