5.4.1 Water pump
Normal pressure pump
Normal pressure pump
The water pump is a single stage normal pressure pump. The water pump
consists of the pump housing, the impeller, the pump shaft, the diffuser and
the shaft seal. The diffuser is built-in in the pump housing.
Functionality
The water pours through the suction inlet and is entered by the impeller.
The water is deflected by 90° and discharges out of the impeller vertically
to the pump shaft.
The conversion from speed to pressure occurs in the diffuser.
The discharge height of the water pump is calculated as the sum of the fol-
lowing indicators:
• Water pressure gauge
• Water vacuum gauge
