2.5.Fuserunit
Thisunitfusesthetonerthatwastransferredbythetransferrollerontothepaper,byapplyingheatandpressuretocomplete
thefusingprocess.Thismachineusesaninstantfusingsystem.Thishasafasterwarm-uptimethanaconventional
fusingandpressurerollersystem.
1)HalogenLamp
Thefuserunithastwohalogenlamps.Oneheatsthecenterofthefusingbelt,theotherheatstheendofaxialdirection.
Thesehalogenlampsarelitalternatelytoheatthefusingbelt.Eachlamphasitscoilinadifferentlocation.Thecoilof
thecenterheaterlampisinthecenter,thoseofthesideheaterlampareonbothsides.Thelampsarexedinsideof
thefusingbelt.Whenrotatingthefusingbelt,theselampsdoesnotrotate.
2)FusingBelt
Thefusingbeltgetsheatfromthehalogenlampandtransferittotonerandpaper.Thefusingbeltconsistsofthree
thin-layers.Thethinfusingbeltreduceswarminguptimeandmodechangingtime.Topreventthefusingbeltfrom
adheringtothetoner,thesurfaceofthefuserbeltisuorinated.ThereisaNipinsidethefusingbelt.Tomaintainthe
properNipbetweenthefusingbeltandpressureroller,thespringisused.
3)PressureRoller
Thepressurerollerisarubberrollerwhichensurespropernipwidthbetweenthepressurerollerandfusingbelt.Itis
drivenbythedrivingsystemanddrivesthefusingbelt.
4)Non-Contact(NC)Sensor
NCsensors(non-contacttypethermistors),locatednearthecenterandtheendofthefusingbelt,controlthetemperature
ofthefusingbelt.
5)Thermostat
Thermostatscutoffthepowersupplytothehalogenlampbyopeningthecircuitwhenthefusingbeltbecomes
abnormallyhotasaresultofproblemssuchasNCsensormalfunction.Thesethermostatsareusedtopreventabnormal
operation.Whenthethermostatistriggered,itmustbereplaced(aswellastheotherdamagedpartsinthefuserunit).
