16. Troubleshooting
The table below contains a list of error symptoms and explains what you can do to solve the problem if your tool fails to
work properly. If the problem persists after working through the list, please contact your nearest service workshop.
Problem Possible Cause
Remedy
Engine fails to start
Spark plug wire disconnected. Attach spark plug wire securely to spark plug.
Out of fuel or state fuel. Fill with clean, fresh gasoline.
Choke not in open position.
Throttle must be positioned at choke for a cold
start.
Blocked fuel line. Clean the fuel line.
Fouled spark plug. Clean, adjust gap, or replace.
Engine ooding. Wait a fes minutes to restart, but do not prime.
Engine runs erratically.
Spark plug wire loose. Connect and tighten spark plug wire.
Unit running on CHOKE. Move choke lever to OFF.
Blocked fuel line or stale fuel.
Clean fuel line. Fill tank with clean, fresh gasoli-
ne.
Vent plugged. Clear vent.
Water or dirt in fuel system. Drain fuel tank. Rell with fresh fuel.
Dirty air cleaner. Clean or replace air cleaner.
Improper carburetor adjustment. Consult the service.
Engine overheats.
Engine oil level low. Fill crankcase with proper oil.
Dirty air cleaner. Clean air cleaner.
Air ow restricted. Remove housing and clean.
Carburetor not adjusted properly. Consult the service.
Machine does not move while
engine is running.
Gear is not properly selected.
Ensure gear lever is not in-between two diffe-
rent gears.
Driving tracks not tight enough. Tighten driving tracks.
