Object 1000h – Device Type
The object describes the device type.
•
Byte 0 to 1 (0196h = 406d) represents device profile CiA 406.
•
Byte 2 to 3 (0008h = 8d) represents the subprofile of an absolute linear encoder
Object 1001h – Error Register
The error register indicates the error status of the device. An assigned bit indicates
that a corresponding error has occurred. A communication error remains in the Error
Register (bit 0 and bit 4 set) until the “Communication Reset” or “Application Reset”
command has been executed.
Bit Mandatory/optional Description Supported
0 Mandatory General error Yes
1 Optional Current error No
2 Optional Voltage error No
3 Optional Temperature error Yes
4 Optional Communication error (buf‐
fer overflow)
Yes
5 Optional Device profile-related error No
6 Optional Reserved (always 0) No
7 Optional Manufacturer-specific
errors
Yes
Object 1003h Pre-defined Error Field
The “Pre-defined Error Field” object represents an error memory. The error code of a
newly occurred error is stored in subindex 1 and errors already in the error field are
moved up by one subindex. The newly occurred error is also sent via the Emergency
object. Subindex 0 carries the current error status. Writing value 0 to subindex 0
completely deletes the error history. Read access to an empty standard error field
(subindex 1...5) is answered with an SDO abort message (abort code: 0x0800 0024).
