Depending on the controller used, it may be necessary to increase the input assembly sizes
specified in section see "Assembly Object class (class code 04h)", page 54 by an additional
4 bytes for the included run/idle header.
3. Fill empty configuration assembly with valid data, structure based on the configu‐
ration assembly present in the EDS file (see table 26, page 56).
4. Transmit data to controller.
NOTE
An empty configuration assembly or invalid data contained therein that is not in the
permissible value range of the respective attribute can lead to an error in the controller.
NOTE
If device parameters are changed via the display, SOPAS ET or explicit EtherNet/IP
message services, which are contained in the configuration assembly or the parameter
table, these are overwritten with the values stored in the controller when restarted.
Configuration as generic device without configuration assembly:
1. Add generic Ethernet module as a new module from the device library.
2. Enter module properties:
°
Module name
°
IP network configuration matching the configuration in the device (see
"Assignment of IP network configuration", page 68)
°
Selection of the instance ID of the desired assemblies for the cyclic I/O data
and the configuration as well as the data type (see "Connection Manager
Object class (class code 06h)", page 57) e. g.:
Assembly type Instance ID Assembly name Assembly size
[bytes]
Input

1 Position 4 (plus 32 bit
run/idle
header)

Output

Configuration 153 Configuration 0
1)
Depending on the controller used, it may be necessary to increase the input assembly sizes
specified in section see "Assembly Object class (class code 04h)", page 54 by an additional
4 bytes for the included run/idle header.
3. Transmit data to controller.
NOTE
Depending on the project planning tool, the transfer of configuration data can be sup‐
pressed by entering instance ID 153 with length = 0 byte in the connection parameters
for the configuration data or by deactivating the transfer of configuration data via a
selection window.
