Online Instrument, module, or station is operational.
The automation system diverts sample tubes to the
station’s interface gate, where they are picked by the
robot and processed or directly aspirated at the gate.
Overview screen Main screen of the LineMaster workspace that displays
the system configuration.
Pick Robot action that removes a sample tube from 1 point
prior to placing it at another point.
Pick position Position at an interface gate at which instrument
probes aspirate samples or from which robots pick
sample tubes for processing.
Place Robot action that puts a sample tube in a particular
point at the interface gate.
Place position Position at an interface gate for a robot to return tubes
on, at a manual gate, for an operator to return tubes.
Puck Weighted cylindrical carrier that holds a single sample
tube as it moves on the main track and side tracks.
Queue Line of sample tubes on the side track waiting for
processing.
The queue typically holds up to 20 sample tubes with
15 extra positions reserved for STAT.
Robot Mechanism that picks sample tubes, racks, or
cassettes from one position and places them at
another on the automation system. Robots are flexible
and move in 3 axes: x, y, and Z.
The 2 types of robots are listed here:
• Interface robots pick sample tubes from the
interface gate and move them into the
instrument or module.
• Internal robots move sample tubes within an
instrument or module.
