6.1 Safety information
Note
The NCU is exclusively intended for installation in ESD-protected zones. The CE-associated ESD
interference immunity limit values can only be achieved via installation in the control cabinet.
Only make physical contact using appropriate ESD protective measures.
Open equipment
These modules are open equipment. This means they may only be installed in housings,
cabinets or in electrical service rooms that can be entered or accessed exclusively by means of
a key or tool. Housings, cabinets, or electrical equipment rooms may only be accessed by trained
or authorized personnel. An external re protection casing is required.
NOTICE
The module can be damaged if power is connected to the NCU when installing/removing
it
When installing the NCU, the system and the NCU must be disconnected (brought into a no
voltage condition).

WARNING
Risk of re through overheating if there are insucient ventilation clearances
Inadequate ventilation clearances cause overheating with a risk for personnel due to smoke
and re. Further, this can result in increased failures and a shorter service life of devices/
systems.
It is essential that you maintain 80 mm ventilation clearances above and below the NCU.
