B.8 Synchronous Transfer
When the VFD requires the SYNC feature, the output of the drive is equipped with a reactor and
switchgear (contactors or only switchgears (contactors). These components cannot be
packaged into the core conguration due to space limitations; therefore, they are housed in
transition cabinets. They are sized, based upon the continuous current rating of the power cells
and maximum voltage available of the drive. Please consult Siemens Engineering for the
Synchronous Transfer sizing, electrical and mechanical interfacing to the VFD.
